This group was officially formed in May 2014.  We were originally founded by former members of the SCA group, College of Brymstone, who chose to form a separate group as our interests grew.  We are NOT a group within the SCA.  We are ..... F.I.R.E. (Friends In Recreation & Education)!!

 

This has been a wonderful opportunity as it has enabled us to not only pursue our medieval and renaissance interests (which we have continued to do)…… but now we also explore other fun things!!  While we started with "The Tudor Project", over the years our interests have expanded as the interests of our members have grown. We now also explore Victorian, Edwardian, 1500s Irish, Steampunk, and more!

 

We broadened our horizons and formed friendships with other groups - like the wonderful people at Mesa Community College, Southwest Shakespeare Company, Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (ACMRS) and many others in the past.  More recently we have been joining in the fun with CROFT (Celtic Reenactment Organization for Fellowship and Trade), Parasols and Petticoats, and the Phoenix Vintage Society.

 

No one is required to be part of every project we get involved in.  Everyone is welcome to pick and choose as their time and interests allow.  Please feel free to check out the different “project” pages to see what we have going on and what we have done in the past.

When the COVID pandemic swept the world in 2020 unfortunately we were unable to continue attending events and holding talks.  Thankfully though, we had plenty of stashed fabric so we were able to continue creating new and fun costumes! 

 

Now that things are back, we are working on connecting with our old friends and making new ones. Keep an eye out on our "Galleries of Past Events" as we post pictures of our recent adventures.

 

So come and join us in some raids on fabric stores, museum adventures, road trips to explore distant lands, dabbling in time travel, and anything else that catches our fancy!!
